About the farm
David Westwood and his son Jonathan are equal partners in the
farm, and it is very much a family business. David's daughter
Sally work's in the office as does his niece Susanna (who is coordinating
the vegetable box delivery). Even David's grand-daughter Emma
works in the Packhouse on a Saturday! We do like to keep it in
the family!
We farm approximately 500 acres and
grow a variety of brassicas (cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli etc)
and this year will be introducing a number of new products which
will include potatoes, broad beans, bobby beans, leeks, courgettes,
celeriac, sprouts, red cabbage, white cabbage, varieties of lettuce
and rhubarb.

David and Jonathan are particularly famous for their
rhubarb, and the farm is situated right in the middle of
the “Rhubarb Triangle” in West Yorkshire. The family has
been farming and growing rhubarb since the 1800s. We
currently grow a number of products, which are supplied,
to a number of major retailers and wholesalers in the UK.
David has featured in a number
of articles with local and national press, and he also featured
in the BBC Great British Menu programme for the Queen’s
80th
birthday, where the Celebrity Chef, Richard Corrigan, visited
the farm and used the forced rhubarb in his desert recipe.
His recipe of rhubarb compote won through to the semi
final!!
